The business of H.Lesser was established by Harris Lesser in the early part of the 20th Century and was continued by his sons, Danny and Jack. In 1984 they were joined by Jack's two sons, Henry and David. They, together with a small team of loyal staff, provide a very personal, knowledgeable and attentive service.

H.Lesser is known for it's high quality cloths - quality of merchandise is the main consideration, taking precedence over price. It is also known for the care taken in quality control and the fast efficient despatch of it's cloths to customers all over the world.

H.Lesser stocks a comprehensive collection of fine worsteds, predominantly featuring the classic English look. These are sourced from only the best English and Italian mills.

The main market is the United Kingdom, particularly the world famous Savile Row. All the collection is made into pattern books and bunches, which are to be found in all the bespoke tailors such as Anderson & Sheppard, Davies & Sons, Dege & Skinner, Huntsman, Henry Poole and Maurice Sedwell.

Of course one can also find excellent quality tailors outside of Savile Row, for example at G.D. Golding Tailors of St. Albans.

H.Lesser also has a long established trade in Japan and has developed a strong presence in North America, Italy, France and Australia through distributors, as well as selling directly to customers in other parts of Europe.
